I am on a school trip to the bathing pool (my local one to be specific) with my English teacher and my mum. I am going down the stairs to the sea, my mum bathing in a hot tub, when all of a sudden everything freezes and a small creature appears. It is a urine-like yellow and black with eyes dripping with blood. It is from the backrooms. Everything freezes including the water, noises and people’s movements except me and my mums. It starts vibrating until it makes a deadly shrieking noise. Then all of a sudden the lights flicker and I wake up. I grabbed my sloth plushie and in my head, it became a sleep paralysis demon and started to resemble the creature from my dream.
Dreams can often reflect our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Let's break down the elements of your dream to interpret its possible meanings:
School Trip: School trips often symbolize learning and exploration. They can represent a desire for adventure or a need for guidance in your life. The presence of your English teacher suggests an aspect of authority or education that is significant to you.
Bathing Pool and Hot Tub: Water often symbolizes emotions and the unconscious mind. A bathing pool might represent a place of relaxation or emotional cleansing. The hot tub may denote comfort and warmth, perhaps reflecting your relationship with your mother and a sense of safety.
The Creature: The creature's description—urine-like yellow and black with blood-dripping eyes—conveys feelings of fear or anxiety. Creatures from the "backrooms" are often associated with the surreal, uncanny, and sometimes terrifying experiences. This may indicate that you are encountering something in your life that feels unfamiliar or distressing.
Freezing and Distortion: The way everything around you freezes could symbolize a feeling of being stuck or immobilized in a situation. It might represent a moment of overwhelming fear or anxiety where you feel like you cannot move or act.
Sound and Vibration: The creature’s deadly shriek might represent a repressed fear or anxiety that you are becoming aware of. The emphasis on sound and vibration could reflect internal emotional turmoil that you are processing in your waking life.
Waking Up and Plushie: Grabbing your sloth plushie suggests a need for comfort or reassurance in the face of fear. The transformation of the plushie into a sleep paralysis demon may symbolize how stress and anxiety are affecting your perception of safety and comfort, especially during vulnerable moments like sleep.
Overall, this dream seems to convey feelings of anxiety, fear of the unknown, and perhaps a struggle between seeking comfort and confronting unsettling emotions. It might be helpful to reflect on any sources of stress or anxiety in your life and consider finding healthy ways to process and address these feelings. It may also be useful to talk about your experiences with someone you trust, like your mother or a friend, to help alleviate any fears you may be facing.
